Farewell Principal Laettner

By Jeremiah Gomez

Mrs. Linda Laettner, principal of “the” Fresno High School, is saying farewell to explore new opportunities. Mrs. Laettner began working at Fresno High in 2014. She started as a Vice Principal from 2014 to 2016. In 2018, she was promoted to principal of FHS.

Principal Laettner says her biggest accomplishment has been “bringing unity to everyone at Fresno High,” and rebounding from tough times like the Covid-19 pandemic. Some of her favorite memories here are the fun she had during the rallies. She loved to see kids perform in extracurricular activities. A lot of her memories come from connecting with the students. The main thing she will miss is the kids. She will also miss the dress up days and participating in them.

As this school year ends, Mrs. Laettner’s tine as principal has come to an end. So, what’s next for her? She is getting promoted to Executive Officer for Fresno Unified. She will be working for a nonprofit organization, which helps students get scholarships. What she’s looking forward to in her new job is the opportunity to give a “systems level impact for kids” enrolled in Fresno Unified.

Farewell, Principal Linda Laettner!

Senior Prank

What a goodbye the Class of 2023 gave the rest of the Fresno High campus!

On May 31, the seniors left the joke of the year. As students and faculty began arriving at the school parking lot, they realized it resembled a junkyard. Trucks were on planters, cars took up three parking spots, and vans were in the middle of lanes.

The school soon caught wind of the activities and Officer Corona was called to have a look. In a video soon spread around Instagram and other social media, Officer C was having none of the prank, stating, “I’m advising everyone here to move their cars before they get towed!” And with that, he began writing down license plates

Students began to rush towards the parking lot to move their cars and waiting for them were pink parking violations. “It was worth it,” said Gabriel Parker. “I mean you’re only a senior once,”
