Fresno Pride Parade and Festival

by Ashton Liberty

The Fresno Pride Parade is an annual celebration held in the Tower District, culminating in the Pride Festival at Fresno City College Campus. The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. and wraps up by 11 a.m., followed immediately by the festival, which continues until 6 p.m.

During the parade, various schools, businesses, and organizations participate to show their support for the LGBTQ+ community, showcasing colorful banners, elaborate floats, and fabulous outfits.

At the festival, attendees can explore a variety of booths and vendors, offering activities for all ages, including a bounce house and a designated play area for children, along with an exciting drag show. Fresno Unified sets up a booth where students involved in the parade can enjoy pizza and relax while visiting the festival.

There are two entrances: one for participants and vendors, who can enter for free, and another at the front, where admission is five dollars per person.

“It’s a very welcoming event, and I look forward to it every year,” shared Lily Adolph.

Grad Nite at Disneyland

by Huga Meza

On Friday, June 6, the Senior Class of 2025 celebrated their annual Gradnite at Disneyland. They departed from Fresno High School at 7 a.m., made a stop at the Grapevine—a significant mountain road leading to Los Angeles—and finally reached Disneyland. After an eventful night, they returned to Fresno High School 24 hours later, on Saturday at 7 a.m.

Devin Lopez shared his experience post-Gradnite, stating, “I’m running on just two hours of sleep.”

Three buses, carrying approximately 125 students, made the trip to Disneyland. The venue was bustling with students from various schools attending Gradnite, making the total number of attendees hard to count. Each student from Fresno High paid $509 for their Gradnite experience. One student mentioned spending around $210 while at Disneyland, indicating that many students invested a significant amount for the event.

Devin Lopez remarked, “It was the most fun a high schooler can have, but it was a waste of money.”

by Arwen Cooper

On Tuesday, June 3, the 2025 graduates of Fresno High School marked their last day of high school. At the start of the day, each senior received a checkout paper that required signatures from all their teachers before they could officially check out.

Halfway through the final period, the seniors were released from class and gathered outside the library to line up with their completed passes. In this line, many graduates shared their reflections on high school, offering valuable advice to underclassmen.

**Wise Words from Graduates:**

- Ozomatli Che Granda advised, *“Never procrastinate, do your work, listen to your teachers, and talk to your counselor a lot. It’s worth it.”*

- Colton Christiansen encouraged, *“Your life is still going; this is just a checkpoint, you know? It’s just moving on to the next level. Just continue staying dedicated and working hard.”*

Graduation is set for June 6 at 4 PM, marking the final event for seniors as they conclude their high school journey.
