Homecoming Game and Skits

by Alejandra Vargas

On Friday afternoon, September 18, 2026, Fresno High School hosted its annual Homecoming rally and skits, followed by a packed football game filled with students and parents. Attendees gathered to watch the game, the halftime performances, and the crowning of the homecoming royalty. Although the football team faced a tough 62-08 loss against the Chowchilla Union football team, school spirit remained high throughout the evening.

The class and club skits began around 6:30 PM, with each group showcasing unique themes through creative acts:

• Class of 2030: Alice in Wonderland

• Class of 2029: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

• Class of 2028: Neverland

• Class of 2027: Descendants

• Link Crew: SpongeBob SquarePants, featuring custom themed shirts.

• Cheer: Tangled, featuring purple jerseys, lighted lantern bags, and a flyer dressed as Rapunzel.

• GSA: Shrek

• Marching Band: Performed in standard marching uniforms.

The student body voted for Homecoming Royalty throughout the week, with underclassmen voting early and seniors voting over a three-day period. During halftime, the nominees lined up with family and friends to await the results. Natallie Hernandez and Derek Amador were crowned the 2026 Homecoming Royalty winners to enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. As seniors celebrated their final Homecoming, the moment was particularly meaningful for them and their peers. The night concluded with photos, celebrations, and continued support for the team, leaving the crowd with lasting memories.
