Women’s History Month
Initiated in 1980 by President Jimmy Carter to run during the week of March 8 (International Women's Day), it was officially designated as a full month in 1987 by Congress. It serves to highlight the achievements, leadership, and courage of women in building the nation, often focusing on those whose contributions went unnoticed.
