Hoco Rally 2023

by Vanessa Flores

To get the year kicked off, in preparation of the Homecoming, just one month into school, Fresno High School held its annual Hoco Rally. Fresno High Leadership, under the supervision of Mrs. Melissa Bangerter, always puts on fun, entertaining and exciting events for participants and spectators. The goal is for all activities for students of all grades to participate and engage in order to help build memories, school spirit and make connections.

This year’s Homecoming Rally included games such as one where the classes had to compete against each other to guess the character blurred on the big screen right, write it on a beach ball and return in back to the front of the row to the assigned Leadership student. Another game they included was one that not only involves the students but teachers as well. In this game, four teachers competed against four students, trying to complete the task of taking all the tissues out of a tissue box but only able to use one hand.

This rally brought celebrations and acknowledgements for the fall sports teams: Unified Football, Cross Country, Girls’ tennis, Volleyball and Golf, and, of course, Football. Athletes were called to the stage and announced to the student body. Other sports and clubs involved were Cheer, displaying some routines they had been working on, Band, that played the school’s Alma Matter and fight song, not to mention Step Team and BSU Dance Club.
