Taqueria El Tapatio

Taqueria El Tapatio who have a four and a half star rating on GrubHub; serve Mexican cuisine, varying from traditional Mexican breakfasts, burritos, tacos, tostadas, patillosMexicanos, tortas, and more. They even serve seafood with a focus of shrimp and fish.

​I ordered five tacos de asada, each taco was $1.50. However, prices vary for different types of meat. For example, the most expensive tacos on the menu are stuffed peppers tacos, coming out to $2.40. I had ordered take-out through a phone call beforehand and when I arrived my tacos were hot and ready, and the aroma of the restaurant reminded me of home as a Mexican woman myself. I felt welcomed as my culture was all around me with the bright colored walls and regulated Spanish channels playing on the mounted TV. Despite only having indoor dining, the floor plan felt spacious.

​As for their service, it had been attentive all the way through, especially with the promise of my tacos being ready when I got there. The staff was very friendly as I noticed the catered conversation that my mother and the owner of the shop were having, asking each other about their personal lives.

​The food for me was the most enjoyable part of it all, the tacos were at just the right temperature filled with meat and condiments as well as flavorful. Taqueria El Tapatio did not disappoint me whatsoever. They also take their business on the road with their taco truck and show their passion of Mexican cuisine all around Fresno, California.

La Boulangerie

La Boulangerie is a French inspired café, bakery, and restaurant that serves (all fresh) pastries, breads, light lunch soups and sandwiches. The average price of the food items that I purchased were $10-$15.30. the establishment offers both inside sitting and an outside patio. I went there on a Monday afternoon, so quite a few people were there for a late lunch, as was I. I ordered the Monte Carlo sandwich- which includes Dijon mayo spread, sliced tomatoes, red onions, turkey, ham, salami with their freshly made Provencal bread topped with Dijon vinaigrette dressing- French onion soup, and an almond paste. The establishment has a very strict policy on serving their food freshly made. With the positive worker’s attitudes and the smell of their delicious Niçoise cakes, it makes the aroma of the bakery peaceful and nice. The employees are very attentive, polite, and mindful of time and customer service, which made the long line go by very fast. They were also very helpful and were aware/knowledgeable of the menu- they even recommended me different items off the menu! The overall thing that I enjoyed about my experience at La Boulangerie was the delicious food and the nice vibe from the Parisian-inspired restaurant. Though, the inside of the establishment is quite small and can be confusing for the number of new customers that seem to come on the daily.

Yosemite Falls

I went to a fancy restaurant called Yosemite Falls for my grandpa's birthday. When I walked in everyone looked so good and everything looked clean. I suddenly had to use the restroom and OMG it was beautiful! It had a big vanity light mirror and us girls love mirrors with lights. We waited five minutes after our reservations and then they sat us down, they already had bread for us with plates.

They didn’t have a big menu, but those prices were so high; I was shocked. My dad ordered a shrimp salad and the sauce they gave to you with it was so good. I ordered shrimp pasta and when it came out, I only had three shrimp at most. I was very upset because 26 dollars was not worth out. The shrimp salad was definitely worth it. There were a lot of young people with their friends eating but more people at the bar.

Our waitress was so nice and helpful and fun fact the waitress automatically gets 100-dollar tip... That must be nice. Everyone in general was very nice and respectful and they were quick. There were like 10 of us, so I thought she would mess up, but they got all the food to the right people and in the end everything was good.

Once they saw we had a lot of dishes, they would come collect them and make sure everything was cleaned. What I enjoyed most was being able to be with my family and thankful the restaurant let us have a good time.
